A glorious summer evening

On 16th June we had our first Meet and Greet with Ukrainian guests and their hosts. About 40 gathered in the fabulous gardens and grounds of Sara’s house in Melbury Abbas to chat, drink John’s elderflower cordial and share nibbles made by Sara and the kitchens of Syrian Cuisine and The Hammouds’ Kitchen.

Guests mingled and talked, hosts got advice and support from those a little further into the journey than themselves.

Young people played chase and games around the ornamental fish ponds and the adults breathed a sigh of relief that there were people to share a common language and experience.

Telephone numbers and e-mails were swapped and unanimously we decided to do it all again, and soon.
