One summer’s evening in Buckhorn Weston

On 11th July we met together again as hosts, Ukrainian guests and supporters of Shaftesbury Refugee Group.

Jeremy and Katie had generously given over the grounds of their beautiful home in Buckhorn Weston to host an evening with food and drinks donated by Vita Europe.

The weather was more than kind and over 70 people were able to share experiences, chat and make new friendships in the sunshine of a beautiful Dorset evening.

Conversation boards were set up to find out what hosts and guests would need over the coming months. High on the list of requests was support for transport and so a grant has been requested from Gillingham Town Council to support this need.

The evening was supported by Trustees and friends of the SRG and plans are already in place for another Meet and greet in early September.
